web design / web developing / branding
the beginning of this website was for a school assignment where we had to learn the basics of html and css. i wanted to make a webpage for everything i do, from illustrations and photography to design projects at school. after the course ended i left it for a bit in order to properly dwell on what the page could be and reflect on what i had learned.
using physical sketching and testing whilst writing the code i could easily see what i liked and didn't, as well as what i was capable of.
the branding is based on an assignment from a course in graphic design, where we had to make business cards to describe ourselves as designers. originally i did not want to use any colours, but my love for both rgb and cmyk made me reconsider, creating a juxtaposition between the analogue medium that is a business card with the colours of a computer monitor. this has resulted in the colour-scheme of the webpage.
i’m not a programmer—however, i am quite proud of the fact that i managed to code the website to look how i wanted it to. it’s not optimized for mobile devices, but i’m constantly working on the code and trying to make it better, so perhaps it soon will be.
as for branding, it's been a curve. trying to keep everything simple, but still conveying the colours and style that i want amz design to have has been interesting. iterating on the logo designs, and developing the logo from first year till what it is today has taught me a lot about what i want amz design to be, as well as what i'm capable of doing.
